Impact Player x Little Sure Shot - July 2014

Side X Side Setters' Little Sure Shot "Annie" has been bred to Bill Krazinski's male Impact Player "Joe", out of Bob Watts and Dick Brenneman's breeding program ( Joe is currently with and being worked by Dave Hughes and is in his string of dogs. Being no stranger to trials as well as having his own collection of impressive wins that have proved his grouse dog virtues, what got Joe the nod to sire this litter wasn't his number of wins but what he's done as a producer. Quite frankly, he's produced more successful progeny than dogs that have been bred many times over. Joe's most recent litter that was whelped in January of 2013 included three winning field trial pups that have accounted for 9 placements in some of the more notable puppy stakes such as the Venango and Grand National Grouse Puppy Classic. (SxSS' Popinjay being one of those pups.) We also got see another pup of Joe's named High Impact, "Razz", owned by Mike Spotts recently at Chemung County NY Bird Dog Club's spring derby stake. Frankly, Razz made his case to be used at 1st an easy decision with his hard driving ground effort, bird sense and composure, classy gait and style on point. But beyond all that, what's impressive is that he's a younger, July whelped derby. Razz's littermates Game Changer, Full Impact, and Magic Mist Jack have also provided testament to Joe's very favorable impact on litters, each providing a number of placements of their own. Special thanks goes out to Joe's owner Bill and particularly Dave Hughes for getting this breeding done.

Annie has been a cornerstone here since she's arrived. She's the culmination of the classic New England (field line, cover dog) setter that grouse hunters have had a long love affair with and have been stiff competition to go up against in cover dog trials. With Annie's qualities as well as the blood she carries (Long Gone Madison, Agnes and George, Grouse Ridge Reroy, Smoke Rise Buck, First Rate with a cross of HOF Tekoa Mtn. Sunrise and Brannigan in there) we're expecting nothing less than another great litter from Joe.
